We had a chat with one of our most recent members, Charlie from Fearless Flamingo about her 2 year old business and her children’s gifts that aim to inspire and empower.
INTRODUCE YOURSELF! WHAT IS YOUR NAME AND WHICH COMPANY ARE YOU FROM?
I'm Charlie from Fearless Flamingo!

Empowering children's gifts.
3. AMAZING! HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR?
2 years as a side hustle and I left my corporate job 3 months ago so I can now focus on it full time
4. WHAT DOES YOUR BRAND MEAN / STAND FOR?
I wanted to design prints that could go beyond just looking good on a playroom wall - something that could help encourage a conversation about how we think, feel and behave. This thought has evolved into a whole range of feel-good prints and gifts that aim to inspire, empower and bring some everyday positivity!
5. WHAT HAVE BEEN YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGES SO FAR?
I think the mental strain has been the biggest challenge (and surprise) so far. I anticipated long hours but keeping fears (lots of them!) in check, routinely getting uncomfortable and essentially covering every role in the business can be really tough.
6. WHAT’S YOUR MORNING ROUTINE?
My mornings are hectic and involve nursery/school runs so when my workday starts varies by day. But I've been reading a lot about the importance of a positive morning routine, so my new routine (starting this week!) will involve reading my affirmations, 5 minutes meditation to get into a positive frame of mind for the day and 2 sun salutations. Sounds random but I met someone who swore that doing 2 of these a day is better for your body than doing one weekly yoga class. I'll let you know!
7. WHO DO YOU DRAW INSPIRATION FROM?
I am constantly inspired and awed by other small business owners. Since setting up I have a newfound respect for anyone that has the courage to show up daily and push themselves. I've found a real spirit of collaboration over competition and that support and camaraderie is so important in what can feel like quite an isolated role. Holly Tucker's amazing 'Conversations of Inspiration' podcasts have also reignited my flagging morale on more occasions than I can count!
8. ANY FAVOURITE BRANDS OR SHOPS?
I love everything about the Mamahood - it's a treasure trove of gorgeous women-led brands who sell the most amazing variety of goodies. I want it all! Shop-wise my all time favourite has to be Liberty. I am lucky enough to have some products stocked there and that was a total dream come true - definitely the highlight of my journey so far!
